Job Overview Join our dynamic research team as a Laboratory Assistant, where your skills will directly impact patient care and diagnostic accuracy. In this vital role, you will perform blood draws, specimen collection, and processing while providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced clinical environment. Your expertise in laboratory procedures and techniques will support accurate testing and timely results, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties Collect blood samples using venipuncture and capillary techniques with precision and care, adhering to aseptic protocols. Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage according to established procedures. Maintain a clean, organized workspace by following infection control practices and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination. Support laboratory operations by performing routine tasks such as inventory management. Communicate effectively with patients and team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service delivery. Requirements Proven experience in medical laboratory work or clinical settings, with knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques. Certification or training in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and blood sampling methods. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport specimens or equipment safely. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification preferred. Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience preferred, especially in geriatrics settings. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication. Knowledge of specimen collection/processing standards and blood sampling procedures to ensure specimen integrity.
