Duties Collect urine specimens from clients in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company protocols, ensuring proper identification and documentation. Follow strict aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures to prevent contamination during specimen collection and processing. Maintain detailed records of each collection, including chain-of-custody documentation, in our Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). Ensure compliance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations and uphold all clinical confidentiality policies throughout the process. Communicate clearly with clients, providing instructions and support to ensure a smooth specimen collection experience. Manage biological samples responsibly, including proper storage, labeling, and transportation to designated laboratories for analysis. Adhere to safety protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures when necessary, maintaining a safe environment for both staff and clients. Experience Prior experience in medical laboratory work, specimen collection, or phlebotomy is highly preferred. Knowledge of laboratory management systems (LIS), medical terminology, and anatomy enhances your ability to perform effectively. Experience with hospital or clinical laboratory environments demonstrates familiarity with laboratory procedures and confidentiality policies. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology supports accurate specimen collection and client communication. Qualified DOT Specimen Collector certification (Required) Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to maintain clinical confidentiality are essential for success in this role. Certification in Phlebotomy or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
