Position Overview The primary responsibility of this position is to obtain patient blood samples through phlebotomy and process blood and whole bone marrow specimens according to established laboratory protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for use during patient procedures. Because physicians may request different product preparations based on the patient's treatment plan, this position requires an individual who is highly attentive to detail, able to learn technical processes quickly, comfortable following precise protocols, and committed to maintaining sterility and quality throughout the entire process. The ideal candidate will also have Medical Assisting experience and be comfortable assisting with basic clinical responsibilities when needed. Duties & Responsibilities Laboratory & Processing Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and obtain blood specimens from patients in accordance with established protocols. Assist with whole bone marrow collection and processing procedures as directed and within the scope of training and applicable requirements. Process patient specimens for reinjection according to current laboratory protocols and approved SOPs. Perform laboratory processing within Class II biological safety cabinets as applicable to established procedures. Accurately identify, label, handle, and track patient specimens and associated documentation. Follow all applicable laboratory, safety, infection prevention, and quality-control procedures. Interpret and follow FDA-regulated requirements, applicable standards, and Regenexx Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and patient documentation. Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance and required documentation. Perform required equipment checks and maintain appropriate records. Assist with maintaining laboratory certification, registration, and quality-assurance requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and appropriately controlled laboratory environment. Immediately report equipment concerns, processing deviations, contamination concerns, or other issues according to established procedures. Clinical & Medical Assisting Responsibilities Assist with preparation for patient procedures. Assist the clinical team with basic Medical Assistant duties as needed. Assist physicians and clinical staff during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, including procedures utilizing ultrasound and fluoroscopy. Prepare procedure rooms, supplies, and equipment according to established protocols. Provide professional and compassionate patient support before, during, and after procedures. Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and organization of supplies. Additional Responsibilities Travel to other clinic locations as needed. Travel pay is provided. Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information. Participate in staff training, competency assessments, quality-improvement activities, and continuing education as required. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Physician or Clinical Operations Manager. Requirements & Qualifications Required Strong phlebotomy skills and demonstrated venipuncture experience. Ability to obtain blood specimens accurately and safely. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow highly specific protocols. Ability to maintain sterility and follow infection-prevention procedures. Working knowledge of infectious diseases and modes of transmission. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, physicians, and staff. Professional, friendly, and personable demeanor. Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a clinical team. Ability to learn and consistently perform technical laboratory processes. Commitment to patient safety, quality, and accuracy. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and relevant computer systems. Willingness to receive coaching and implement feedback and quality-improvement recommendations. Preferred Some laboratory education/experience. Medical Assisting experience. Clinical laboratory processing experience. Experience working with blood products or biological specimens. Experience working in a healthcare, laboratory, procedural, or specialty clinical environment. Experience working with sterile technique and/or biological safety cabinets.
