Duties Lead and supervise the phlebotomy team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure excellence in specimen collection and patient care Manage daily schedules for phlebotomy staff to optimize workflow and coverage across multiple departments or facilities Oversee specimen collection procedures including venipuncture, capillary sampling, and blood sampling, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations, safety standards, and hospital policies related to specimen handling, processing, and documentation Collaborate with laboratory management to monitor laboratory information systems (LIS), track specimen status, and troubleshoot technical issues Conduct quality assurance checks on collected specimens, review analysis results for accuracy, and implement corrective actions when necessary Facilitate communication between clinical teams, patients, and laboratory personnel to enhance patient service experience and resolve any collection or processing issues Qualifications Proven laboratory techniques expertise with extensive experience in specimen collection including venipuncture and capillary methods Strong background in clinical laboratory procedures, medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and anatomy fundamentals Previous management or supervising experience in a hospital or clinical setting with demonstrated leadership skills Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) for tracking specimens and managing data efficiently Knowledge of aseptic techniques, blood sampling protocols, vital signs measurement, and compliance management practices Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including pediatrics and patients requiring special care Ability to coordinate schedules effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong analysis skills for reviewing specimen quality and troubleshooting technical issues Join us as a Phlebotomy Coordinator where your leadership will directly impact patient care quality!
