Job Description

We are seeking a committed Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team in the delivery of high quality, compassionate care to our patients.
  • Must have experience administering intramuscular patient injections.
  • Part time hours are as follows: Wednesday 3pm-7pm, Friday 3pm-7pm & Saturday 9am-1 pm Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist will perform a variety of routine duties: Duties Include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in patient processing which includes greeting patients, answering telephones, filing and patient discharge
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Collecting finger stick blood specimens and performing basic laboratory test
  • Clean, prep and stock exam rooms
  • Taking patient vital signs
  • Maintaining inventory of medical and office supplies
  • Process patient prescriptions as directed by physician
  • Documenting written patient charts and electronic medical records
  • Maintaining proper vaccine inventory and registry
  • End of day cleanup
  • Follows the policy, procedures, and standing orders set by the practice
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Successfully completed a state established or other training program that meets medical assistant and or phlebotomy criteria
  • One year experience in hospital or other training facility (preferred)
  • Have the ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions
  • Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Current AAMA, AMT, NCCT or CPT certification and CPR certification (preferred)
  • Must possess courteous and professional interpersonal skills
  • We are seeking a patient focused individual who is mature, respectful and trustworthy
  • The ideal candidate will possess bilingual skills in Spanish/English in order to communicate effectively with our Spanish speaking patients
  • Possess satisfactory references
  • Covid-19 vaccination required
