Job Description

Orthopaedic Associates is a fast-paced, 14-physician orthopaedic practice with four locations in Evansville and Newburgh, IN and Henderson, KY. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. We are closed on the six major holidays and employees are eligible for holiday pay and insurance after completing their first 60 days of employment. We also offer a lucrative PTO plan and 401k with a matching component. This position would be expected to work from any of our four office locations, depending on scheduling needs but would mainly work from our Newburgh location. Hours are generally Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. The Phlebotomist will work alongside the Pre-Op Department receiving or collecting, as well as processing, all blood and urine samples. The Phlebotomist will extract blood from patients through venipuncture or finger sticks and prepare specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients. The Phlebotomist will also supply diagnostic notes to physicians, healthcare professionals and hospitals and keep and maintain records of patient names, volume of blood drawn, and diagnostic findings if necessary. The Phlebotomist will also assist the Clinical Assistants as needed.
