7:30 AM - 4:30
PM Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist I will perform blood draws and specimen collection while supporting laboratory operations, troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations.
Responsibilities:
Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles. Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures. Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy. Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients. Properly store and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Follow OSHA, DEP, and department regulations and procedures. Attend required department training. Answer telephone calls and assist with laboratory result inquiries.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Valid state phlebotomy certification, where required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
