Job Description

Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Phlebotomist, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.
Every day you will identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols.
To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction. Dispatches and tracks Support Assistants in an efficient manner. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills related to routine venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills related to specimen collection for blood bank transfusion purposes. Appropriately identifies patients according to procedure being performed. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills related to pre-analytical phase of testing. Prepares specimens for analysis in assigned section(s). Documents and appropriately follows up on specimen integrity issues. Communicates with Dispatch to facilitate recollect, if required. Job Requirements Required High School Graduate, upon hire or High School GED, upon hire Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
