Summary Job Description:

Description:
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by the laboratory. Assesses job functions and takes appropriate action when problems are detected. Identifies problems with specimens, test orders, registration and takes appropriate action. Identifies patients and specimens correctly from beginning of process to release of results. Accessions specimens into the Laboratory Information System, accurately recording pertinent data to be used by the physician in the interpretation of tests results Collect blood samples by appropriate method on premature babies to geriatric patients utilizing prescribed safety and infection control procedures to protect the patient and the phlebotomist. Investigates, documents and follows up on customers' concerns, inquiries and provides prompt, polite customer service.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
