Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using aseptic technique, ensuring patient comfort and safety Accurately label, process, and handle specimens following established laboratory procedures and protocols Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure proper sample collection conditions Maintain detailed documentation of specimen collection, processing steps, and patient information within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems Provide compassionate patient service, including explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience for diverse populations such as pediatrics and geriatrics Follow strict laboratory techniques to prevent contamination or specimen mishandling during collection and transport Assist with laboratory procedures as needed, supporting overall clinical laboratory operations and quality assurance efforts Requirements Proven experience in medical laboratory work, including specimen collection, processing, and handling in a clinical or hospital setting Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory techniques relevant to blood sampling and venipuncture Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and specimen handling protocols Ability to lift heavy objects safely when necessary for specimen transport or equipment setup Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care across all age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and record keeping Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced hospital environments while maintaining attention to detail Join our team to help deliver vital diagnostic services with professionalism, compassion, and precision.
