Job Description

RCM Healthcare Services seeks an Inpatient Phlebotomy Manager to lead hospital-based specimen collection operations. In this leadership role, you will supervise phlebotomy staff, manage scheduling, and ensure timely, accurate blood draws for diverse inpatient populations. You will develop and enforce policies, maintain regulatory and infection-control compliance, and collaborate closely with nursing, laboratory, and medical teams. Ideal candidates bring strong phlebotomy expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily inpatient phlebotomy operations to ensure accurate, timely specimen collection Supervise, schedule, and mentor phlebotomy staff; support performance evaluations and training Develop and enforce phlebotomy policies, procedures, and quality standards in line with hospital protocols Collaborate with nursing, laboratory, and medical teams to optimize workflow and patient experience Monitor compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements Track key metrics, resolve service issues, and implement process improvements Participate in staffing plans and support recruitment and onboarding of new phlebotomists Required Skills Phlebotomy techniques Inpatient hospital workflow Staff supervision and scheduling Clinical quality and safety standards Infection control procedures Specimen handling and labeling Electronic health record (EHR) systems Regulatory compliance (CLIA, Joint Commission) Training and competency assessment Process improvement/LEAN methods
