  • 07:30 AM (Monday to Thursday)
  • MOB lab on the main campus.
Experience with Meditech and/or Mobilab. They should also have experience drawing pediatric patients ||

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist Technician to join our healthcare team in Concord, MA 01742. This vital role involves collecting blood samples and other specimens from patients with precision and compassion, ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory techniques, excellent patient service skills, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and physiology. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical diagnostic processes while supporting patient well-being across diverse populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using aseptic techniques, adhering to established protocols. Prepare and handle specimens meticulously to maintain integrity during collection, processing, and transportation. Accurately document patient information, specimen details, and test orders within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Assist in patient care by providing clear instructions, ensuring comfort during procedures, and addressing patient concerns professionally. Monitor vital signs as needed and recognize signs of distress or adverse reactions during specimen collection. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety standards, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials. Support laboratory procedures by performing data entry tasks related to specimen tracking and test results. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure timely processing of specimens for diagnostic testing. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to laboratory work. Handle heavy lifting when necessary for specimen transport or equipment setup. Qualifications Proven laboratory experience with a focus on phlebotomy techniques and specimen handling. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, including blood sampling, specimen processing, and aseptic technique. Certification or training in phlebotomy is preferred; however, relevant medical laboratory work experience is acceptable. Basic life support (BLS) certification; CPR certification is highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and documentation. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices. Experience working in hospital or clinical settings with diverse patient populations such as pediatrics and geriatrics. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and maintain attention to detail under pressure. Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
