Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and supporting laboratory operations to ensure accurate and timely results. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in phlebotomy and laboratory procedures, along with excellent patient service abilities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care by facilitating efficient specimen collection and processing within a clinical or hospital setting. Duties Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using aseptic techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare, label, and handle specimens according to established protocols to maintain integrity and prevent contamination. Assist with laboratory tests by processing specimens, entering data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems accurately. Monitor vital signs and assess patient condition during specimen collection, providing compassionate care across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organize supplies, and adhere strictly to safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR protocols. Document all procedures meticulously, including specimen details, patient information, and test orders. Support laboratory staff with routine tasks such as inventory management, data entry, and specimen transportation within the facility. Follow all hospital policies regarding specimen handling, storage, and transport to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Engage in ongoing training to stay current with laboratory techniques, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and medical terminology.
Experience:
Experience with Meditech and/or Mobilab. They should also have experience drawing pediatric patients
Pay:
$25.64 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
