As a Specimen Collection Specialist, your schedule will run from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Initially, this is a 3-month role with the possibility of extension or permanency. Benefits are available to eligible candidates. Key responsibilities include performing blood draws, accurately labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring compliance with safety and testing protocols. You will skillfully operate both straight and butterfly needles and demonstrate proper techniques to patients, providing clear explanations of the procedures. Responsibilities extend to preparing specimens for transport, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to all relevant regulations including OSHA and DEP standards. You will also engage in regular department training and respond to patient and staff inquiries about laboratory results. To qualify, you must hold a valid Phlebotomy certification (if required by the state), have at least two years of experience, and be proficient in venipunctures in high-paced environments.
