Phlebotomist Augusta, ME (VA Healthcare Facility) Urgently Hiring! | Long-Term Federal Contract About the
Company:
A reputable healthcare organization is seeking experienced Phlebotomists to support a long-term federal healthcare contract in Augusta, Maine. This position offers a 1-year base contract with the potential for four additional option years, providing excellent long-term stability and career growth. Schedule 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Rotating weekends (approximately 1-2 per month) Weekend, evening, holiday, and occasional overtime coverage may be required Position Summary The Phlebotomist will perform blood specimen collection for inpatient and outpatient populations while ensuring accurate patient identification, specimen processing, quality control, and compliance with laboratory policies and federal healthcare standards. Perform phlebotomy procedures for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department patients. Collect, process, label, and prepare laboratory specimens. Ensure accurate patient and specimen identification. Maintain laboratory documentation and quality control records. Identify and resolve collection or processing issues. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards. Deliver professional, patient-centered care while supporting laboratory quality initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Active Phlebotomy Certification Current BLS Certification Active healthcare license (any U.S. state accepted, if applicable) Minimum 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) Why Join This Opportunity?
