$18.00 - $21.00 / Hour Apply For This Job Overview Join a well-established clinical setting as a Lab - Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in patient care by efficiently collecting blood and urine specimens. This position offers an ongoing temp opportunity with consistent daytime hours, allowing you to apply your phlebotomy skills in a supportive environment while making a difference in patient health and safety. Responsibilities Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of blood and urine specimens Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens with accuracy and care Observe and collect urine specimens from patients, including unobserved and observed collections Identify patients correctly following departmental policies before specimen collection Properly label and document specimens, preparing them for shipment Demonstrate excellent customer service and compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population Follow all Universal Precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality Report low shift volumes, unusual issues, or procedural deviations to the supervisor Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times Assist with office and processing supplies as needed Required Skills Minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience Strong customer service skills and a verifiable track record of providing excellent care Reliable with a strong work ethic Proficient in computer skills including managing multiple programs, email, and report management Fast, accurate data entry capabilities Clear and concise communication skills Additional Skills & Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Physical ability to perform frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting Venipuncture experience is required Flexibility to work Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, 40 hours per week This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable phlebotomist to contribute to vital drug testing services within a clinical environment.
