Full Time. Days. Full Benefits. Aspire Rural Health Systems is seeking a Phlebotomist. We're looking for individuals with a positive attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to delivering the highest quality of service to both our patients and employees.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required. BLS certification required within six (6) months of hire. Completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant education program, including clinical training from an approved institution, preferred. ASCP or equivalent certification preferred within one (1) year of hire or upon eligibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary purpose of your position is to procure specimens for analysis by the laboratory, centrifugation of blood samples, and preparation of out-going reference lab samples. The Phlebotomist is also responsible for working within the laboratory information system, tasks include securing lab orders from computer terminals, amending and verifying orders as necessary and general knowledge of computer and printer maintenance. Clerical duties include distribution of lab reports to assigned location when necessary, keeping inventory and ordering supplies from various sources, and answering the telephone when available. The Phlebotomist is responsible to be in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, Aspire Rural Health System established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Pathologist or Laboratory Director, to assure that a quality laboratory service is being always provided.
