Job Overview Retina Specialists of Mississippi is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic diagnostic imaging team. This role involves performing ophthalmic procedures under the direction and/or supervision of an ophthalmologist, conducting patient screenings, diagnostic testing, patient education, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for excellent patient care, strong communication skills, and proficiency with technology. Duties Obtain and update detailed patient medical histories in an electronic medical record. Perform diagnostic tests, including visual acuity, eye pressure measurements, visual field examinations, and other ocular assessments. Administer topical ophthalmic medications, such as dilation eye drops, as directed by the ophthalmologist. Assist physicians during examinations and ophthalmic procedures. Conduct diagnostic imaging and prepare patients for physician consultations. Provide patient education on home care. Perform administrative duties, such as managing correspondence. Perform scribing duties to document patient encounters accurately. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Phlebotomy certification required. High school diploma required. Some college education preferred. Graduate of an accredited ophthalmic program or two (2) years of related experience preferred. Previous medical office experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, ocular anatomy, ophthalmic pharmacology, and eye diseases. Proficiency in diagnostic and treatment procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Ability to operate ophthalmic equipment and administer preliminary screening examinations. Comfortable using laptop and desktop computers, iPads, and electronic medical record systems. Compassionate, polite, and kind demeanor with a desire to help others. Reliable, well-spoken, and an active listener. Pay:

$14.00 - $17.00 per hour
