Category Laboratory - Phlebotomist Job Type Contract A great opportunity is available for a skilled Laboratory Phlebotomist to perform vital specimen collection and support patient care. This contract position calls for candidates who are organized, reliable, and dedicated to clinical laboratory excellence.
Qualifications:
Current certification or registration as a Phlebotomist (nationally recognized agency preferred) Previous hands-on experience in a clinical laboratory or hospital setting Proficient in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and infection control measures Effective communication skills to interact with patients and interdisciplinary staff Attention to detail, accurate labeling, and efficient specimen handling Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Responsibilities:
Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients of all ages in accordance with facility protocols Properly label, document, and transport samples for laboratory analysis Verify patient identification and maintain patient comfort and safety during procedures Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy work area and equipment Accurately record and report specimen collection information in laboratory information systems Collaborate closely with nursing, laboratory, and medical staff to support timely patient care Adhere to all regulatory and facility standards for quality and safety
