Responsibilities Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric individuals, following established procedures to ensure safety and accuracy. Prepare specimens for lab testing, verifying patient demographic information and labeling samples correctly in the presence of the patient. Communicate effectively with patients, creating a trustworthy environment by explaining procedures clearly and professionally. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing. Ensure a safe and professional environment at all times, adhering to safety policies and procedures. Perform specimen collection and processing duties confidently, demonstrating leadership behaviors and process excellence. Support coverage across multiple locations, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy settings, with flexible hours and minimal notice. Required Skills Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Strong customer service and communication skills to engage effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors. Accurate keyboard and data entry skills for documentation purposes. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and handle stressful situations professionally. Additional Skills & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington. 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred. Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record if travel is involved. Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime, to support multiple locations. Strong commitment to safety policies, patient confidentiality, and a customer-focused approach.
