Job Description

Position Summary Performs a variety of specimen collection techniques using standard collection devices. Instructs patients on proper preparation/collection for tests ordered and distributes collection containers when necessary Processes specimens for testing including identifying; sorting; aliquoting; centrifuging and labeling specimens appropriately Checks laboratory specimens and requisition forms for accuracy. Submits requisitions and orders tests in multiple laboratory systems Education, Credential, Training, and Experience Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
Preferred:
Completion of Phlebotomy Program or completion of a hospital-led training program; completed competency required upon hire or upon completion of training program. Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency Certified through ASCP or ASPT upon hire. Previous experience as a phlebotomist minimum 1 year
