Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM

Hours:

40 hours/week

Contract:

3+ months, with possible extension and potential conversion to a permanent position

Position Summary:

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents Client's to patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. The role requires excellent patient interaction skills, accurate specimen collection and processing, and adherence to established procedures. The PSR II may work at a doctor's office, Patient Service Center, or other locations based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Perform pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Handle both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain required initials/signatures after venipuncture.

Ensure tubes are properly labeled in the patient's presence and verify accuracy of patient information.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Provide a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients.

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.

Travel between Patient Service Centers and in-office locations as required, sometimes with minimal notice.

Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.

Experience must include:

Pediatric collections

Geriatric collections

Capillary collections

Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.

Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Phlebotomy certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington; it is not listed as required for this New Jersey position.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data-entry experience.

Excellent phlebotomy skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.

Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong patient/customer communication skills.

Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.

Reliable transportation and valid driver's license/clean driving record, if applicable.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime based on staffing needs.
