Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring Phlebotomist's in Newark, New Jersey! This role is on-site. Please read below and apply with an updated resume for consideration:

  • Six-month contract with potential for extension or perm hire
  • Schedule:
  • Between 6am-6pm Mon-Fri, weekends and holidays may apply
  • Pay:
  • $20.00 to $22.00 an hour
  • Position Summary
  • We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team.
The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood specimens and other patient samples while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and accuracy. The ideal candidate has excellent venipuncture skills, a strong commitment to quality care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • + Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on patients of all ages.
+ Verify patient identity and ensure proper specimen labeling and handling. + Prepare patients for blood draws and explain procedures to help alleviate concerns. + Process, transport, and store specimens according to established protocols. + Maintain accurate documentation and patient records. + Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards. + Monitor and maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment. + Collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. + Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements. + Provide exceptional customer service and patient care.
  • Required Qualifications
  • + High school diploma or GED. + Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program. + Current Phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or equivalent), if required by state regulations. + Knowledge of venipuncture techniques, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + One or more years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital, physician office, clinic, blood bank, or laboratory setting. + Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and laboratory information systems (LIS). + Experience drawing blood from pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-access patients.

  • + Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy. + Excellent patient service and communication skills. + Ability to remain calm and professional during difficult situations. + Strong organizational and time-management abilities. + Team-oriented with a commitment to quality patient care.

  • $20.
