- Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through precise specimen collection and comprehensive clinical support.
This energetic position combines the art of blood sampling with essential medical assisting duties, ensuring smooth clinic operations and positive patient experiences. You will utilize your laboratory expertise and patient service skills to support diagnostic processes while fostering a welcoming environment for all patients. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and blood sampling using proper aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity. Collect, process, and label specimens accurately following laboratory procedures and protocols. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to assist clinicians in patient assessments. Assist healthcare providers with patient care activities, including preparing examination rooms and providing basic clinical support. Maintain thorough documentation of procedures, patient information, and laboratory records with attention to detail. Follow laboratory techniques and safety standards to uphold quality control and infection prevention measures. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and provide compassionate care rooted in physiology knowledge and anatomy understanding. Experience Prior laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with specimen collection and processing. Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, venipuncture, and blood sampling techniques within a healthcare setting. Experience working in hospital or outpatient environments that require adherence to strict infection control protocols. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to support accurate patient assessments. Previous patient service experience that highlights excellent communication skills and a caring approach to diverse populations. Familiarity with hospital procedures or medical assisting duties that enhance team collaboration and workflow efficiency.
