00 per hour Overview Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Phlebotomist, where your expertise in blood draws and specimen collection will contribute to high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles, ensuring patient comfort and sample quality Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to established procedures Explain specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients Collect and store specimens such as blood, urine, or fecal samples following protocols Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen labels; ensure accurate labeling Package specimens for transport and store samples at appropriate temperatures to maintain integrity Maintain accurate records of specimen collection and processing Update patient information and record maintenance data as required Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE Attend annual department trainings and stay informed of safety and procedural updates Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed Perform other duties related to specimen collection and processing as assigned Required Skills Proven experience in blood draws and specimen collection Knowledge of proper labeling, centrifuging, and specimen handling techniques Ability to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient care Familiarity with laboratory requisition forms and specimen packaging protocols Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures Excellent communication skills Additional Skills & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Phlebotomy certification or licensure preferred Experience working in a clinical or laboratory environment required Fluent or conversational in Spanish preferred Flexibility to work scheduled hours including Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and every other Friday Ability to lift and transport specimens, and work in a standard clinical environment Elevate patient care by bringing precision and empathy to specimen collection.
