Phlebotomy Technician - OB-GYN Associates (Ithaca, NY) Position Overview We are seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our OB-GYN practice in Ithaca, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood and other laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate labeling, and maintaining a clean, organized lab environment. You will work closely with providers and support a high volume of OB/GYN patients, delivering care with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Collect blood samples and other laboratory specimens from patients. Ensure proper patient identification and follow all safety and infection control standards. Label all vials accurately with patient names and dates. Determine the most appropriate method for drawing blood based on patient needs. Prepare specimens for pickup by outside laboratory couriers. Verify that all collected samples include correct requisitions before placing them in the office laboratory. Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times. Provide friendly, courteous, and compassionate care, especially when working with OB/GYN patients.
