Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection clearly and courteously. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Understand and comply with all physicians' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required. Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy. Package specimens for transport and store sample specimens according to required temperatures. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Qualifications:

2-3 years of experience in blood drawing. Proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric and infant draws. Strong administrative skills and attention to detail. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
