We provide personalized fertility care in a small-practice environment where patients receive individualized attention and continuity of care. We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with patients and a physician and is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a growing medical practice. Excellent phlebotomy skills are essential for this position. Schedule The anticipated schedule is approximately 16-18 hours per week:
  • Two weekdays, approximately 7:00 a.m.-1:00/2:00 p.m.
  • Fridays, approximately 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
  • Early-morning availability is required due to fertility monitoring
  • Some flexibility in end time is appreciated based on patient volume
  • No weekend hours currently required
  • Opportunity for additional hours as the practice grows Clinical Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture confidently and efficiently, including during morning fertility monitoring
  • Label, process, and prepare blood specimens, including centrifuging/spinning specimens
  • Room patients
  • Prepare patients, rooms, instruments, and supplies for office-based procedures
  • Assist the physician during office procedures
  • Scribe during patient visits and assist with accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Reinforce physician-directed patient education, including medications, testing, treatment instructions, and next steps
  • Prepare and turn over examination and procedure rooms between patients
  • Clean and disinfect clinical surfaces and equipment
  • Clean, package, sterilize, and appropriately store reusable instruments
  • Maintain a clean, organized, patient-ready clinical environment and light cleaning
  • Maintain clinical supplies and inventory and identify items requiring reorder Patient Care & Administrative Responsibilities Because this is a small practice, the Medical Assistant will also participate in patient coordination and front-desk responsibilities, including:
  • Greet and check patients in and out
  • Collect and accurately document copays, coinsurance, and other patient payments
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Answer and route telephone calls
  • Monitor and triage incoming patient messages and emails and escalate clinical questions appropriately
  • Track laboratory and imaging results and follow up on outstanding results
  • Upload laboratory results, outside records, and other clinical documents into the EMR
  • Obtain outside medical records and test results
  • Prepare charts and identify missing records or results before visits
  • Assist with medication and pharmacy coordination
  • Communicate routine physician-approved instructions to patients
  • Maintain patient tracking lists and help ensure that follow-up items are completed Referral & Practice Support During quieter clinical periods, responsibilities may also include:
  • Outreach to referring physicians and medical practices
  • Maintaining and updating referring-provider contact information
  • Following up with referral offices regarding records and coordination of care
  • Sending physician-approved educational and practice information to referring providers
  • Tracking referral sources and outreach
  • Assisting with other administrative, patient-education, and practice-growth projects as needed Qualifications
  • Medical Assistant training/certification or relevant clinical experience
  • Strong, demonstrated phlebotomy skills required
  • Experience processing and centrifuging blood specimens preferred
  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working in a small practice and helping across clinical and administrative functions
  • Fertility, reproductive endocrinology, OB/GYN, or women's health experience preferred but not required
  • Scribing experience preferred
  • Experience with instrument cleaning and sterilization preferred The Person We're Looking For The ideal candidate is compassionate with patients, clinically capable, organized, dependable, and proactive.
We are looking for someone who notices what needs to be done and is comfortable moving between responsibilities from drawing and processing blood and assisting with a procedure to scribing, tracking down a missing lab result, checking in a patient, or helping with referring-provider outreach. This is an opportunity to become an important member of a growing physician-owned fertility practice, with the potential for increased responsibilities and hours as the practice expands.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 18.0 per week
