Responsibilities Perform blood sampling and venipuncture using aseptic techniques to ensure safe and accurate specimen collection Assist donors with patient service, including explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout the donation process Collect, process, and handle specimens following laboratory procedures and safety standards Record donor information accurately into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems with precise data entry Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; assess donor health status before donation Maintain proper specimen handling, labeling, and storage in accordance with laboratory protocols Support donor care by providing basic life support (BLS) or CPR if necessary during any emergency situations Experience Previous laboratory experience or medical laboratory work experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates Knowledge of laboratory techniques including specimen collection, processing, and handling Familiarity with hospital or clinical settings enhances understanding of patient care and safety procedures Experience with EMR/EHR systems for efficient data entry and record keeping Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, and blood sampling procedures such as venipuncture and phlebotomy specimen handling Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during specimen transport or equipment setup Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified Join us in making a difference!
