We strive to create a welcoming environment that promotes health, wellness, and positive patient experiences. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in laboratory procedures, specimen collection, and patient care, with a focus on pediatric populations. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to vital diagnostic services while ensuring a comfortable and safe experience for young patients. The Pediatric Phlebotomist will perform blood sampling, venipuncture, and specimen handling in accordance with clinical standards, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment. Duties Collect blood samples from pediatric patients using venipuncture and other phlebotomy techniques while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following proper handling, labeling, and aseptic techniques. Assist with patient care by explaining procedures clearly and providing compassionate support during specimen collection. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, including data entry into electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Follow laboratory protocols and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with health regulations and quality standards. Handle specimens carefully during processing, storage, and transportation to ensure specimen integrity. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized work environment, including sterilization of equipment and adherence to infection control practices. Experience Proven laboratory experience with knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen handling. Prior medical laboratory work experience in pediatrics or hospital settings is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and documentation purposes. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric blood collection. Experience working with pediatric or geriatric populations is preferred to ensure patient comfort across age groups. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during specimen transport or equipment setup while maintaining safety standards.
