Cerner Position Summary The Phlebotomist / Clinical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for collecting patient specimens accurately and safely and providing laboratory support within an acute-care healthcare environment. The successful candidate must have strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on adult patients. Collect, label, process, and transport blood and other laboratory specimens according to established procedures. Verify patient identification and ensure accurate specimen collection and labeling. Maintain specimen integrity and follow laboratory safety, infection-control, and quality-assurance standards. Assist the clinical laboratory with routine duties and workflow as needed. Provide professional and compassionate patient care during specimen collection. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, laboratory personnel, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility and laboratory policies. Follow applicable safety, regulatory, and infection-prevention requirements. Assist with additional laboratory responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Healthcare Provider Level BLS required. Training in an approved Phlebotomy Training Program or one (1) year recent phlebotomy experience required. Phlebotomist Certification preferred. #HC1 #HC1
