Mobile Phlebotomist Job Description The primary role of Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshoot issues, conduct training, and make recommendations for workflow improvements. Responsibilities Conduct blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and perform decontamination. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Clearly explain the process of venipuncture or other specimen collection, such as urine or fecal, in a courteous manner. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all physicians' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures. Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label them, and follow procedures specific to the protocol necessary for transport to maintain specimen integrity. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or

GED. 2-4

years of experience in a related field. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Portland, Maine. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
