Job Description

Summary The In Office Processor/Phlebotomist will follow instructions for the proper handling of all specimens. He/she will process the samples for transport to the laboratory in a timely manner. The current schedule for this role is Wednesdays and Fridays. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must follow all Specimen Processor Agreement and Procedure Manual directives. Will properly identify specimens. Will follow instructions to correctly fill out requisition form. Will make sure that specimens are shipped to the laboratory in a timely fashion. Communicate to the IOP Manager for any issues related to time & attendance or operational questions within the client location. Be friendly, and courteous to office staff. Will properly label urine specimens. Correctly and completely fill out requisition forms with the required information. Keep work area clean and organized at all times. Will greet and properly identify patients and verify test orders. Will follow instructions to correctly perform venipunctures, while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. Maintain a safe work environment for his or herself and the patients by following all safety precautions outlined in the Procedure Manual, which includes wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Will properly label, centrifuge when needed, aliquot, store, and transport all samples according to the Procedure Manual. Verify all requisition forms are completed with the required information. Immediately clean and disinfect area upon contamination and before leaving the facility Competencies Communication Proficiency. Time Management. Collaboration Skills. Education and Experience High School Diploma Phlebotomy Certificate Good organizational skills Ability to maintain a friendly and courteous rapport with office staff Ability to maintain attention to detail The Compass processor will ONLY perform work for Compass Laboratory Services.
