Job Description

We are seeking our next Community Enrichment Teacher - Phlebotomy - Moore County Campus who will be all-in on our mission and who is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in assigned subject areas, which may include Phlebotomy and Medical Terminology. Instruction may occur in classroom, laboratory, clinical, online, or technology-supported settings. This position focuses on student engagement, skill development, certification preparation, and adherence to program and accreditation standards. The instructor is expected to maintain current subject matter expertise, prepare instructional materials, evaluate student performance, and support student success in both academic and clinical environments.
EDUCATION
:
Required:
Associate Degree in a healthcare-related field.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related discipline or teaching field.
EXPERIENCE
:
Required:
Six (6) months of documented experience, licensure, certification, or training related to Phlebotomy.
Preferred:
Previous postsecondary teaching experience. Experience supervising or training adults in clinical and/or educational settings. Teach assigned course(s) using engaging, learner-centered instructional methods. Plan, develop, and deliver organized instruction in accordance with approved course outlines and syllabi. Develop lesson plans and learning activities that promote student engagement and application of course content. Prepare students for successful completion of applicable certification or credentialing examinations. Monitor, assist, and evaluate students in clinical settings, as applicable. Evaluate student performance and provide timely and constructive feedback on academic progress. Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, grades, and student performance. Communicate with and advise students through appropriate methods, including in-person, electronic, or virtual communication. Develop and update curriculum, instructional materials, and supplemental learning resources as needed. Attend required meetings, trainings, orientations, and clinical briefings. Complete administrative documentation and reporting in a timely and accurate manner. Participate in course review, curriculum updates, and continuous improvement efforts. Perform other work-related duties as required. Salary:
Pay grade 10 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver supplies up to twenty-five (25) pounds as needed.
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional educational environment and routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing systems, etc.). Work may occur in classrooms, laboratories, clinical environments, and administrative office settings. The position may involve a high-traffic environment with frequent interruptions and may require working with minimal supervision. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various instructional technologies.
