Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist and Laboratory Assistant to join our clinical team. This role involves performing specimen collection, processing laboratory samples, and providing exceptional patient care within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in laboratory procedures, patient service, and anatomy knowledge, with experience in venipuncture and blood sampling. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient health outcomes while developing your expertise in clinical laboratory practices. Responsibilities Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques using aseptic methods Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately for testing and analysis Perform routine laboratory procedures following established protocols and safety guidelines Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of specimens to maintain specimen integrity Assist with patient care activities, including explaining procedures and ensuring comfort during specimen collection Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to infection control standards Support laboratory operations by preparing samples for testing, inventory management, and equipment maintenance Follow all safety procedures related to specimen handling, biohazard disposal, and infection prevention Experience Prior laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and medical terminology essential for accurate specimen collection and processing Experience with phlebotomy, venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen handling highly desirable Previous hospital or healthcare facility experience is advantageous but not mandatory; a strong commitment to patient service is essential This position is integral to delivering quality healthcare services through precise laboratory work and compassionate patient interaction.
