Job Description
Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to support our patient-focused, quality-driven laboratory team in Austin. In this role, you will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, accurately label and process specimens, and ensure proper handling to maintain sample integrity for diagnostic testing. You will follow strict safety and infection-control guidelines, use electronic systems for documentation, and provide compassionate, professional service to patients, physicians, and clinical staff. This position offers hands-on experience with advanced lab technologies and opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative healthcare environment. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on diverse patient populations following CPL protocols. Verify patient identity and orders; accurately label and document all specimens. Prepare, process, and store specimens to maintain integrity for clinical and anatomic testing. Follow infection control and safety procedures, including proper PPE and sharps handling. Use laboratory and collection equipment, including centrifuges and electronic systems, accurately. Provide compassionate, patient-focused service and assist in calming or educating patients. Coordinate with couriers and laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen transport and results. Maintain clean, organized collection areas and manage supplies and inventory. Document collections in LIS/EHR systems and resolve basic order or label discrepancies. Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and lab teams to support timely, accurate diagnostics.
