Duties Collect blood samples and other specimens using venipuncture and aseptic techniques, ensuring proper specimen handling and processing. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support patient assessments. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes clearly and providing compassionate care tailored to geriatrics and pediatrics populations. Enter patient data accurately into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including physiology assessments, specimen labeling, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Support patient service efforts by answering questions, providing reassurance, and ensuring a welcoming environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas following aseptic techniques to uphold safety standards. Requirements Proven experience with laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection/processing in a clinical or hospital setting. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical laboratory practices. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Strong skills in venipuncture (blood sampling), phlebotomy specimen handling, and vital signs measurement. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and maintain physical stamina throughout shifts. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and record keeping. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Familiarity with hospital protocols, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is highly preferred. Bilingual a plus but not required.
