Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PRN (as-needed) Mobile Phlebotomist, where your expertise will directly impact patient care by collecting blood samples and other specimens in various settings. This energetic role offers the flexibility to work across different locations, bringing vital laboratory services directly to patients in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and community settings. Your proficiency in phlebotomy, patient service, and specimen handling will ensure accurate testing and swift results, supporting timely diagnoses and treatment plans. Responsibilities Perform blood sampling and specimen collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques with precision and aseptic technique. Handle specimens carefully, ensuring proper labeling, processing, and transportation to the laboratory according to established protocols. Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure safe collection procedures, especially in geriatrics and pediatric populations. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, including data entry and patient information updates. Follow laboratory procedures and techniques accurately while adhering to safety standards such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR requirements. Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns compassionately, and ensuring patient comfort during specimen collection. Manage heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or specimens safely within various healthcare environments. Practice infection control protocols using aseptic techniques during specimen collection and handling to prevent contamination. Experience Prior medical laboratory work experience with a focus on phlebotomy or specimen collection is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and anatomy relevant to blood sampling and physiology. Experience working in hospital or clinical settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to blood sampling, venipuncture, and specimen handling processes. Proven ability to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Certification in Phlebotomy or related fields is advantageous; Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required or obtainable upon hire. Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced healthcare environment. $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
