Job Description
Are you a skilled phlebotomist ready to bring your precision, calm, and patient-care instincts into a new arena? We're looking for a motivated individual to join our fast-paced veterinary emergency team. Your hands-on experience with venipuncture, specimen collection, and working under pressure is exactly what our patients — and their people — need. No prior veterinary experience required — we provide full training. What we need is your technical skill, your composure, and your heart. What you'll do Perform blood draws and IV catheter placements on dogs, cats, and exotic species using your phlebotomy expertise Collect, label, and process diagnostic specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples Assist veterinarians during emergency procedures, triage assessments, and critical care monitoring Administer medications, fluids, and supportive care as directed by the attending veterinarian Comfort and restrain patients gently while communicating compassionately with distressed pet owners Maintain accurate medical records and ensure a clean, sterile clinical environment What you bring Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) credential 1+ year of venipuncture and specimen collection experience Steady hands and composure in high-stress situations Genuine love for animals and empathy for their owners Availability for overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts Nice to have Veterinary assistant or tech experience Familiarity with veterinary software (Cornerstone, etc.) Experience with handling animals Bilingual (English/Spanish) CVT or RVT pursuing or enrolled in a program
