About the Role We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant & Phlebotomist ready to step into a leadership role within our Functional Medicine department. This is a hands-on position that combines clinical Medical Assistant responsibilities with team leadership, patient experience, department operations, and process improvement. You will support providers and patients while helping lead, train, and develop the Functional Medicine team. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, emotionally intelligent, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership without constant direction. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Patient Care Assist providers with Functional Medicine treatments and procedures Perform phlebotomy and coordinate lab work Support hormone optimization, medical weight loss, thyroid care, regenerative medicine, hair loss, gut health, allergy testing, and other Functional Medicine services Prepare rooms and procedures and maintain clean, sterile environments Complete accurate charting, consents, and patient documentation Assist with DEXA scans and other clinical services Manage patient follow-up, education, and communication Department Operations Manage Functional Medicine communications through email, text, Cerbo, and Blvd Coordinate prescriptions, Fullscript, labs, and patient tasks according to company protocols Optimize scheduling and daily patient flow Oversee Functional Medicine inventory and supplies Help develop and improve department SOPs and workflows Ensure department standards, checklists, and protocols are consistently followed Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, train, and mentor Functional Medicine team members Serve as a go-to resource for Functional Medicine systems, protocols, and workflows Conduct team training, role plays, and 1:1 development meetings Establish and monitor team KPIs Support onboarding and assist with recruiting Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive culture Patient Experience & Growth Create a warm, personalized, VIP-level patient experience Improve patient retention, follow-up, and rebooking Educate patients on RUMA services and programs Identify appropriate opportunities for cross-department services Monitor department performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement What We're Looking For MA or CNA certification required Prior Medical Assistant experience Phlebotomy experience Strong clinical and documentation skills Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Functional Medicine experience is a plus Excellent communication and organizational skills Comfortable working independently and taking initiative Strong technology skills and ability to learn new systems Professional, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented Passionate about patient care and continued learning This Role Is a
