Phlebotomy Instructor

Astar Education Institute is a non-profit located in Manassas, VA. We are currently seeking a motivated self-directed Phlebotomy Instructor to teach our phlebotomy course. The instructor must prepare students to successfully complete the course and a potential licensing exam.

• Please note: weekend, weekday and evening classes available depending on your schedule.

Theory classes are currently 100% online.

HOWEVER, CANDIDATES MUST LIVE LOCALLY.

Practical skills training as well (but not required).

Job Duties :

• Create clear lesson plans that follow curriculum guidelines set forth by the department of health professionals and Astar.
• Facilitate phlebotomy classes at the specified time
• Must be able to organize and manage appropriate classroom instructions (maintain student attendance sheets & grade sheets)
• Maintain student progress reports and evaluations; give exams, quizzes and homework.
• Prepare students to pass their State Certification Exam through a variety of teaching resources
• Provide supervision to all students during classroom and skills lab classes
• Maintain familiarity with clinical equipment and skills

Job/Education Requirements :

• Hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Virginia (required)
• 1 year of experience teaching adult learners in a classroom setting (preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience as Registered Nurse preferred
