This position is located at our Astria Sunnyside Hospital in the Laboratory Department.
Shifts:
Day and swing shift available - More information will provided during the interview. What you get to do every day! As the Clinical Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist, this role performs accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of patient identification, blood and body fluid specimen collection, labeling and processing.
you will:
Performing applicable blood collection techniques such as venipuncture and capillary collection. Explaining venipuncture procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process. Preparing the patient for the blood draw. Responsible for accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of specimen collection, labeling, receipt and processing. Completing and maintaining competency in specimen processing and packing, phlebotomy and client services. Assists in the pre-analytical and analytical phases of select testing. Upholds laboratory compliance and accreditation through adherence to established department policies and procedures, safety standards and infection control standards. Produce and reports accurate and reliable patient results Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries. Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization. Requirements High School Graduation or GED from an accredited education institution
Coursework/Training:
Completion of a formal Phlebotomy Training Program
Upon Hire:
Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification (MA-P)
