Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) Job Summary The Pediatric Physical Therapist evaluates and treats infants, children, and adolescents with developmental delays, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, genetic syndromes, and other conditions affecting gross motor development and functional mobility. The therapist develops individualized treatment plans to improve strength, balance, coordination, gait, endurance, and independence while collaborating with families and healthcare providers to achieve optimal outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for pediatric patients. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals. Provide evidence-based interventions to improve gross motor skills, strength, balance, coordination, posture, gait, and functional mobility. Assess and recommend adaptive equipment, orthotics, and mobility devices as appropriate. Educate caregivers on home exercise programs, positioning, handling techniques, and strategies to support developmental progress. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on objective findings. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including evaluations, progress reports, daily treatment notes, and discharge summaries. Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, orthotists, educators, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Ensure compliance with all clinic policies, payer requirements, state practice regulations, and ethical standards. Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement activities. Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited physical therapy program. Current and unrestricted California Physical Therapist license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Pediatric experience preferred New grad welcome Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
