School Physical Therapist | Torrington, Connecticut
Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based physical therapist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time position runs from ASAP through June 2027, supporting students across K-12 in a districtwide capacity. With a weekly schedule of 32-37.5 hours, you will play a vital role in shaping positive outcomes for students as they pursue their educational goals. We are seeking a dedicated professional who is committed to working onsite and ready to collaborate with educators, family members, and multidisciplinary teams. Your expertise will ensure students receive the support and care necessary to thrive in the school environment.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
A valid PT (Physical Therapist) license, or eligibility for licensure in Connecticut Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued Familiarity with K-12 caseloads, adapting support for diverse student needs Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Willingness to work full time, onsite, throughout the school yearResponsibilities Include:
Delivering physical therapy services to students with a variety of needs within the school district Conducting assessments, developing IEP goals, and collaborating with other professionals Engaging with teachers and families to support student access to educational programs Maintaining thorough documentation and progress notes according to state and federal regulations Participating in IEP meetings and professional development This contract offers the chance to make a significant impact in the lives of students across multiple grade levels.
