Job Description

FREE MOTION PHYSICAL THERAPY
|
CLEARWATER, FL
Want to become a better clinician—not just see more patients? At Free Motion Physical Therapy, we believe being a great Physical Therapist means constantly learning, thinking, practicing, and improving. We're looking for a Doctor of Physical Therapy who wants to join a collaborative team where you can develop your clinical skills, work closely with your patients, learn from experienced clinicians, and continue growing as a therapist. We want you to learn how to assess the person in front of you, identify what may be contributing to their problem, develop an individualized plan, and then SEE and CREATE the change with your own hands.
WHY FREE MOTION?
Free Motion is a privately owned, cash-based physical therapy practice in Clearwater built around hands-on physical therapy, patient education, therapeutic exercise, advanced recovery technology, and wellness. Our approach is different from a traditional PT clinic. We focus on the individual patient—not simply their diagnosis. We want our therapists to understand movement, identify dysfunction, educate the patient, and develop treatment programs that help people actually improve their function.
Most importantly:
WE BELIEVE EDUCATION CREATES BETTER RESULTS.
That means educating ourselves. Educating our patients. And educating one another.
WHAT MAKES THIS POSITION DIFFERENT?
1-ON-1 PATIENT CARE Our DPTs typically see approximately 10-15 patients per day. When you're treating a patient, you're actually with that patient. Treatment sessions are generally 30 or 60 minutes of direct interaction with the therapist before the patient transitions to the next portion of their program with our support team. We intentionally structure our environment so you can actually evaluate, treat, educate, and connect with the person in front of you.
LEARN FIRST. EARN YOUR FREEDOM.
We don't expect someone to walk through the door knowing exactly how we practice. You'll first learn our approach, demonstrate competency, and develop your clinical skills. As you demonstrate your ability and clinical reasoning, you'll have increasing freedom to make decisions, develop programs, and treat your patients in a way that reflects your growing experience. If you're already an experienced clinician, you'll have room to bring your existing knowledge and clinical experience to the table while learning our approach. We believe autonomy should come with competence—not simply a job title.
MANUAL THERAPY
Hands-on treatment is a major part of what we do. If you already have strong manual therapy experience, great. If you're a new graduate or still developing those skills, that's okay too. We want to help you become better with your hands. You'll have opportunities to learn and practice techniques involving mobility, soft tissue, neuromuscular function, movement, and other hands-on approaches while learning how to integrate those skills into a complete treatment plan.
WEEKLY CLINICAL TRAINING
We don't just tell you to keep learning—we build it into the work week. Our PT team participates in hands-on collaborative training
TWO TIMES PER WEEK
for approximately one hour each session. These sessions are designed to help our clinicians: Practice hands-on techniques Improve clinical skills Discuss patient cases Learn from one another Work through challenging clinical situations Develop better clinical reasoning Continue improving as therapists You're not expected to figure everything out alone. We want our clinicians learning from each other.
MENTORSHIP & COLLABORATION
One of the biggest benefits of joining Free Motion is having other clinicians around you who actually want to help you improve. Whether you're a new graduate or an experienced therapist, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss cases, practice techniques, and receive feedback. We want an environment where saying: "Can you take a look at this?" or "How would you approach this?" is normal. Because that's how good clinicians become better clinicians.
PATIENT OUTCOMES MATTER
We aren't interested in simply completing visits. We want to see change. Improved movement. Improved function. Improved strength. Improved mobility. Improved confidence. Improved understanding of their own body. We want our therapists to develop treatment programs with the goal of creating measurable, meaningful improvements in the patient's life.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, you will: Perform physical therapy evaluations and assessments Identify movement impairments and functional limitations Develop individualized treatment programs Provide 1-on-1 hands-on patient care Perform and develop manual therapy skills Prescribe and progress therapeutic exercise Educate patients about their condition, movement, and recovery Monitor patient progress and modify treatment programs as appropriate Collaborate with other PTs and team members Participate in weekly hands-on clinical training Communicate effectively with patients and coworkers Help patients understand WHY they are doing what they're doing Continue developing your clinical knowledge and skills Use Free Motion's available treatment and recovery technologies when appropriate to the patient's program
OUR APPROACH TO CLINICAL GROWTH
Learn. Practice. Demonstrate. Understand. Apply. Improve. Then do it again. We don't want you to simply follow a treatment protocol. We want you to become a better clinician.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're less interested in finding the person with the most impressive resume and more interested in finding the right person for our team. You may be a great fit if you are: Passionate about physical therapy Constantly working on your own improvement Open-minded in your approach to learning Curious about WHY things work Comfortable receiving feedback Interested in developing strong hands-on skills Someone who values patient education Someone who enjoys educating others Someone who wants to collaborate rather than work in isolation Someone who takes pride in creating results Energetic and positive Dependable and professional Comfortable working in a close-knit team Someone who wants to continue growing as a clinician
NEW GRADUATES ARE WELCOME. EXPERIENCED CLINICIANS ARE WELCOME.
Your experience matters. But your PURPOSE as a therapist matters just as much. If your goal is to continue learning, improve your clinical skills, educate your patients, collaborate with your team, and create meaningful results, we'd like to meet you.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree Current Florida Physical Therapist license or eligibility for Florida licensure Strong communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team Professional and dependable Commitment to continued clinical education
Preferred:
Experience with manual therapy Experience with orthopedic or sports rehabilitation Experience with therapeutic exercise Experience with neuromuscular re-education Experience working in a private practice environment Interest in performance, wellness, movement, or human optimization
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AT FREE MOTION REAL PATIENT CONNECTION
You won't spend your day treating a computer screen or rushing through a long list of patients. You'll have time to work with people.
CLINICAL DEVELOPMENT
You'll continue developing your hands-on skills and clinical reasoning through real patients and collaborative training.
MENTORSHIP
You'll have experienced clinicians around you who are willing to teach, collaborate, and help you work through challenges.
AUTONOMY THROUGH COMPETENCY
As you demonstrate your abilities, you'll have increasing freedom in how you approach your patients and develop their programs.
TEAM ENVIRONMENT
We work together. When someone has a question, we help. When someone learns something new, we share it. When someone has a difficult patient, we collaborate.
PATIENT IMPACT
You'll get to see the changes you're helping create. Not just on paper. Not just in a chart. But in how someone moves, functions, performs, and lives.
A CULTURE OF LEARNING
We believe education shouldn't stop when you graduate. It's part of the job. At Free Motion, we believe our job isn't simply to help someone feel better for an hour. It's to help people understand their bodies, improve their function, and become more capable of taking care of themselves. And that's what we want from our clinicians, too. Learn something. Practice it. Apply it. Help someone. Get better. Then do it again tomorrow.
READY TO JOIN THE TEAM?
If you're looking for a physical therapy career where you can treat patients 1-on-1, develop your hands-on skills, learn from other clinicians, build your clinical confidence, and become a better therapist over time, we'd love to meet you. Tell us a little about yourself, your experience, why you became a Physical Therapist, and what you want to continue learning. Free Motion Physical Therapy Clearwater, Florida "Together we improve your body's health and functions."
