Pay Rate:
Starting at $45/hour (dependent on experience) Position Overview Birch Agency is seeking a licensed Physical Therapists (PT) to provide school-based physical therapy services in Palm Springs, Florida for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity offer the chance to work with a diverse student population while collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams throughout the school district. The Physical Therapist will support students in developing mobility, strength, endurance, balance, positioning, and functional independence skills necessary for successful participation in the educational environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assessments to determine students' motor and functional needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals. Provide direct physical therapy services in accordance with each student's educational needs. Address gross motor development, mobility, balance, strength, endurance, positioning, gait, and functional movement skills. Recommend adaptive equipment, mobility devices, positioning supports, and environmental modifications as appropriate. Consult with teachers, families, and school staff regarding strategies to improve student participation in school activities. Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as needed. Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, service logs, and required compliance records. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings. Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations. Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. Active Florida Physical Therapist License required. Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred. Experience with teletherapy service delivery is a plus. Strong knowledge of pediatric motor development, adaptive equipment, and school-based physical therapy practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Work Environment School-based setting serving students with a variety of physical and developmental needs. Full-time schedule (37.5-40 hours per week). Collaborative multidisciplinary team including educators, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, administrators, and families.
