Exceptional Hands-On Provider — Physical Therapist or Chiropractor DPT or DC | Advanced Manual Therapies — Alpharetta, Georgia Part-time 1099 Contractor | 15-20 hours per week Advanced Manual Therapies is looking for an exceptional Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Chiropractic who wants to practice at a higher level—one patient at a time, with the freedom to think clinically and the time to provide meaningful hands-on care. We are not looking for an average provider simply to fill an open schedule. We are looking for one of the best: a clinician with outstanding hands-on skills, excellent clinical instincts, strong functional and whole-person reasoning, and the humility to continue learning. AMT is a cash-based orthopedic manual therapy and medical massage practice founded in Alpharetta in 2018. We are intentionally different from high-volume, insurance-driven practices. Our model emphasizes thorough evaluation, advanced clinical reasoning, individualized treatment, patient education, and true one-on-one care. Our clinical standard reflects the background of AMT founder Dr. Grant Smith, a fellowship-trained orthopedic manual physical therapist and Osteopractor with advanced experience in joint manipulation, dry needling, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, and complex neuromusculoskeletal care. We do not expect another provider to arrive with an identical résumé. We do expect a serious commitment to clinical excellence, accountability, teamwork, and continued professional development. Who we're looking for Our ideal candidate is a DPT or DC with exceptional hands-on assessment and treatment skills. You understand that pain and dysfunction are rarely isolated to one joint, muscle, or system, and you are comfortable looking beyond symptoms to identify the factors influencing a patient's movement, recovery, and overall health. A background in functional medicine, integrative health, nutrition, recovery, or performance is strongly preferred. You should be able to incorporate whole-person thinking into patient care while remaining firmly within your professional license, training, and legal scope of practice. You are confident enough to work independently, humble enough to seek another perspective, and motivated enough to keep refining your craft. You collaborate well, communicate directly, and take ownership of both your clinical decisions and your responsibilities to the team.

You will be expected to:

Perform comprehensive evaluations within your professional scope of practice Use strong palpation, movement assessment, orthopedic testing, and clinical reasoning Develop individualized care plans based on clinical findings and patient goals Deliver skilled, intentional hands-on treatment Integrate appropriate movement, corrective exercise, and patient education Consider relevant lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress, recovery, and systemic health factors Recognize when findings require referral, additional evaluation, or collaboration with another healthcare professional Treat the person as a whole rather than chasing isolated symptoms Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically meaningful documentation Collaborate with AMT's physical therapists, massage therapists, and office team Communicate proactively about patient care and operational concerns Deliver a professional, high-touch experience at every visit Practice within Georgia law, professional standards, HIPAA requirements, and the scope of your respective license Take ownership of outcomes, mistakes, follow-up, and continued development Contribute positively to AMT's clinical culture and reputation Required qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited program Current, unrestricted Georgia license in physical therapy or chiropractic, or eligibility to obtain one Exceptional hands-on assessment and treatment skills Strong orthopedic, neuromusculoskeletal, and functional clinical reasoning Excellent interpersonal communication and patient-education skills Professional reliability and the ability to work collaboratively Timely and accurate documentation Professional liability coverage meeting AMT requirements High ethical standards and sound professional judgment A commitment to practicing within the boundaries of your education, training, and license Especially valuable experience Functional medicine or integrative health training Nutrition, metabolic health, recovery, or lifestyle-medicine education Orthopedic residency or manual therapy fellowship training FAAOMPT, OCS, CCSP, DACRB, Osteopractic, or comparable advanced credentials Spinal and extremity manipulation or mobilization Soft-tissue and neuromuscular techniques Dry needling, when permitted by the provider's license and training Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound Shockwave therapy Sports, performance, or complex orthopedic rehabilitation Experience working with persistent or multifactorial pain conditions Experience in a cash-based or out-of-network practice Evidence of continued education and deliberate clinical development We may also consider a less experienced clinician who demonstrates exceptional potential, unusually strong hands-on aptitude, genuine coachability, and a clear commitment to becoming an outstanding provider.
