Traveler Requirements:
Current State License as a Physical Therapist; Proof of current CPR certification; Current driver's license. Must have reliable transportation and insurance; 1-2 years experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.
Responsibilities:
Perform clinical assessments to identify patient needs and appropriateness of care. Document, review, and complete a Plan of Care (POC), progress notes, and clinical records, revising based on ongoing assessment data. Plan and provide treatment for neuromuscular, neurological, and orthopedic disorders based on referrals and assessments. Assist and instruct patients and families in transfer techniques and the use of equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, canes, braces, and prosthetic devices. Educate patients and families regarding therapeutic procedures tailored to age, condition, culture, and readiness. Oversee other team members in patient care activities appropriate to patient needs. Apply infection control and universal precautions to prevent contamination and transmission of disease. Accept clinical assignments aligned with education and competence.
