Job Description

Wellstar Health System seeks a compassionate Physical Therapist to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation services in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this on-site role, you will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs to restore function, mobility, and independence for diverse patient populations across Georgia. Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and document care using EMR. Responsibilities Evaluate patients and develop individualized physical therapy plans of care Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and functional training Use modalities and rehabilitation equipment safely and effectively Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and prevention Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members Document assessments, goals, and progress in EMR accurately and timely Monitor patient response and adjust treatment plans as needed Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and infection-control standards Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Precept or mentor students and new staff as appropriate Required Skills Orthopedic and neurological assessment Therapeutic exercise prescription Manual therapy techniques Gait and balance training Pain management strategies Use of physical therapy modalities (e.g., e-stim, ultrasound) Functional mobility and transfer training EMR documentation and clinical charting Patient and family education Interdisciplinary collaboration
