Wellness Program Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments using standardized tests, clinical observations, and document reviews to determine the need for physical therapy services. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for eligible students in accordance with their IEPs. Maintain thorough documentation, including evaluations, IEP goals, progress reports, classroom/home programs, and other required records. Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students' functional participation within the educational setting. Recommend and assist with adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and classroom strategies to enhance student access and performance. Partner with families to communicate therapy plans and address student needs. Maintain and adapt specialized therapy equipment to support student care. Research and recommend appropriate equipment and identify funding resources as needed. Provide in-service training to school personnel on physical therapy services, strategies for inclusion, and student support. Supervise physical therapist assistants (PTAs) and mentor student interns from academic programs. Manage therapy department supplies and ensure compliance with state and district record-keeping requirements. Travel between school sites as needed to deliver services.
Requirements:
Active IL PT License (IDFPR) Experience in schools or pediatrics
